Vattenfall’s Power as a Service offer provides major energy users with guaranteed power services in exchange for a fixed monthly fee.
As a major European energy company, Vattenfall provide Power as a Service in several countries across Europe and have recently signed a letter of intent with a new customer in Sweden.
Quality Salmon Sotenäs signed the letter on July 14 to support the construction of its blue-green industrial park for land-based salmon farming in Sotenäs, Sweden.
Vattenfall will build, own and manage the industrial park's electricity infrastructure through its 'Power as a Service' offer, which will include a photovoltaic plant, energy storage and EV charging.
Upon completion, the Lighthouse Finance-backed project will produce up to 100,000 metric tons of land-based salmon per year. The partnership will help Quality Salmon optimise its energy use and storage, aiming for zero emissions and a positive carbon footprint.
